TOSHIBA SUPPORTS EC SX CUSTOMERS WITH ENHANCED TRAINING

Alliance with ZIPPS LLC to Help Customers Maximize Machine Investment

ORLANDO, FL, APRIL 2, 2012Toshiba Machine and ZIPPS LLC, one of the industry’s leading training firms, have formed an alliance that will directly benefit molders using Toshiba’s EC SX all-electric injection molding machines. Through the alliance, ZIPPS will lead two-day training sessions focused on the EC SX’s V50 controller. ZIPPS CEO and Founder Mike Zalipski will be on hand to discuss the program at booth #1921 during NPE 2012 in Orlando, April 2-5.

“In our follow-up with EC SX customers, we found that few if any were taking full advantage of the machine’s advanced technology,” said Toshiba General Manager Tom McKevitt, noting that it offers a greater range of shot sizes, 30% more clamping rigidity, 20% faster dry cycle times and the V50 controller, Toshiba’s most advanced unit to date. “Through our alliance with ZIPPS, we are committed to changing that.”

“We are thrilled to align with Toshiba,” said Zalipski, one of four trainers who will be leading the sessions. “Molders may not realize that the three most important targets of any injection molding operation – reducing part weight, cycle time and scrap –  can all be met with a thorough understanding of the V50’s capabilities. “And because it’s based on the same controller platform that’s been used for years, it reduces the learning curve and enables us to focus on its enhanced features.”

Among these features are 40 user-programmable outputs for customizing machine cells as needed, 40% faster communications speed and use of real-time input to make automatic adjustments to changing mold conditions, improving part repeatability and lowering rejects. Zalipski’s team will also cover the V50’s built-in iPAQET Lite data management software for production monitoring, data collection and analysis, and optional software capable of monitoring up to 48 molding machines in real time from virtually any location.

Tuition for the two-day V50 training is $795 per operator. Sessions are currently scheduled for May, June and July at Toshiba’s Regional Technical Centers in Elk Grove Village,
